The pandemic has resulted in children being home from school and has limited social interactions, which could theoretically hamper speech and social skill development. Moreover, social distancing has limited children’s abilities to receive traditional in-person services from school counselors and speech and language pathologists. Craig Springer, PhD, Clinical Psychologist, will discuss strategies that parents can use to enhance social and emotional development. Karla Estrada-Rojas MA, CCC-SLP will provide easy to implement techniques for stimulating language development at home. They will also discuss when to consider professional assistance and the availability of such services.
